"The Rise of the Planet of the Apes"

The Planet of the Apes reboot was a major improvement from the Tim Burton remake in 2001.

One of the biggest improvements was the cast.  James Franco was much more convincing than Mark Wahlberg was.  Instead of sticking actors in ape suits like Tim Burton did, director Rupert Wyatt hired the visual effects team that worked on the Avatar and the Lord of the Rings series to bring his computer generated apes to life.  He also hired Andy Serkis, known for his playing Gollum and King Kong, to do the performance capture for Caesar, the leading ape in the film.

I give this film a solid nine out of ten James Franco is better than Mark Wahlbergs.
