The Band Who I Didn't Know

There are a lot of unappreciated great bands around these days. They are unappreciated mostly because of the fact that most of them don’t write lyrics along the lines of, “GURL YOU SO HOT I REALLY LIKE YO BODAYYY” with a baseline that could make even the calmest person retain a migraine. One of those bands is Mumford and Sons. An indie band with meaningful lyrics and soothing instruments that have the capacity to evoke feelings people didn’t know they possessed!
Formed in December 2007 the band comprises four young men from west London with one goal, “to make music with a purpose, without taking themselves too seriously.” The four young men, Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane are the best of friends and have the musical minds of true artists. With one of their London shows selling out in 24 hours it would be a mistake to not take the time to check this awesome band out.  While reading the bands biography on their site, it is apparent that one of their main goals is to make music that has a deeper meaning than, “I’d like to be skanky with you sometime.” Which is a refreshing statement that makes this writer feel more hopeful about the future of music in today’s day. With more and more hits being cranked out by the small European band its only a matter of time before more and more small bands around the globe will realize the potential for fame when the music they write has a good message and uplifting tone!
