Blue Man Group starts private school

Over the past decade the well known music group, the Blue Man Group, has become increasingly popular, especially to people in the Chicago area.  The members of the Blue Man Group have been at work outside their musical careers. Starting this year, members of the group will be starting a private elementary school.

The school's goal is to let children have their creativity be utilized in whatever way is best for them. The kids are encouraged to play with shaving cream, a water table, and even a model of Medusa's head of tubes. Every day, the students receive half an hour of something called "glow time" where the shades are pulled down and some black lights go on. The room is called the wonder room and sculptures and paintings become apparent when the black lights come on.

The school is situated on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. This area is well known for its "hipness" and ultra modern style. The tuition will be a staggering $28,500 for a year and the school will be called Blue School. They currently have 155 students up to second grade. Even though the lavishness of this school is apparent and it might even seem like a theme park to some, the school sets high goals in developing a young child to their absolute potential. The curriculum has been designed by one of UCLA's professors, Dr. Daniel Siegel and British designer Sir Ken Robinson. Also, despite the high costs of their privatized school, Blue School is still not the most expensive private school fitting these criteria.
