A huge snow storm hit the Midwest and Westminster started feeling the effects Tuesday when we were dismissed halfway through the day.

The snow piled up higher than it ever has and road conditions were the most treacherous they’ve ever been. The snow left a 2,000 mile trail of the lands its hit. Some people were out of power and many people had to hide themselves in their houses to prevent getting stuck elsewhere.

Before the storm had even started, no one was sure whether or not to believe the Weather Channel when they told us how much snow to expect. The expected snow fall went from 24 inches to 10 inches, then to 20.

This is the third worst snow storm in all of Chicago’s history with 20 inches of snow. With record lows, you have to remind yourself of the wind chill and how cold that would have been as well. Many schools were closed for 2 days and many children didn’t play in the snow because of the frigid conditions.

So remember Chicago, bundle up and stay warm.
