Teen Suicide Awareness

Suicide, believe it or not, is the third leading cause for death in teenagers. There is an estimate that for every one suicide made there are about 25 attempts.

It is nothing to joke about and is around us everywhere. A good majority of teenagers have death thoughts and contemplate ways to take action. If a suspected case is near you, don't give them a chance to contemplate it or act upon it. The serious cases usually are from depression, possession of firearms, substance abuse, aggressive behavior, or disruptive behavior.

Gender also has an affect on the given situation. In fact, males are four times as likely to commit suicide than females are. However, teenage girls are more likely to attempt suicide than teenage boys.

Suicide is no laughing matter. Even a joke can go too far. To find out more information on teenage suicide, visit http://www.teensuicide.us/. Do not be afraid to talk.
