News of White Stripes devastate fans

The White Stripes started from being a small garage band in Detroit to one of the most recognized rock bands of all time. Over the course of the past thirteen years they won 5 Grammys and several MTV Music Awards. They also have released 6 albums in the span of their career, some of the most popular being "Elephant" and "White Blood Cells."

The duo of Jack and Meg White has unfortunately announced that the band is no more in a letter to their fans on their website. The letter tells of how they have decided to stop touring and that they will be making no more music together as the White Stripes. It reaffirms that both Jack and Meg are in good health and that there are many reasons for the break up, none of which Jack White goes into. However, Jack White says that he will still continue to do work with his other bands.

This is truly a sad day in music history, as we see the fall of one of the all time great bands. But their original sound, catchy drum beats and guitar riffs will be long remembered even after they are gone.
