Pep Club Gives Pep Bus Another Try

The Warrior boys’ basketball first regional game took place Wednesday, Feb. 23.

With this year's regional hosted in Plano, the Pep Club decided to make transportation easier for the fans by getting a pep bus. In order to pay the bus fee, the school needed 50 students, but regrettably only 19 signed up. This led to the assumed result, a cancelled pep bus.

Yes, Westminster is a small high school, but 50 fans isn’t that much to ask. There are several possibilities that may have contributed to the cancellation. One is the day of the week. Wednesday fall in the middle of the week, which means homework has not yet loosened its grip. Wednesday also bring with it youth groups and church services.

The second possibility is the $15 fee. Some students didn't sign up out of complaint for the “high” price (but in actuality they had themselves a pretty solid deal).

The third and most disheartening possibility is our overall lack of high school pep. Although the Pep Club should be credited with the pep and jolly they have spread throughout the high school halls, they can only do so much. At some point the high school students need to put on their big kid fan pants on and step up the pep.

Nonetheless, Pep Club is back and trying again for a rescheduled bus on Friday. This time, however, the fee is only $10. The fee includes the ride, entrance into the game, and a blue poncho (for extreme fan purposes). Friday gives Westminster its second chance to step up and pep up.
