Prayer Service Done for Bus Crash Victims

A bus carrying a church youth group from Louisiana to Georgia flipped Sunday on Interstate 20 in Mississippi, killing one person and injuring 23 others. Volunteer driver, 61-year-old Won Chae, sacrificed his life for Light of Love, the youth group. As of now, only four people are left hospitalized; the others have been released.

The bus flipped over three times and trapped two people underneath. One person died at the scene. Three were airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, including one with severe head injuries. The others were treated at three hospitals in Meridian.

"Our congregation is leaning on our faith and confidence in God," First Baptist senior pastor Greg Hunt said.

"I guess it was the younger kids that were going up to the retreat, but it could have been any of us. We go up there pretty often, the same camp spot that we go to," according to Mike Chang, churchgoer.

"He felt like that was his calling, in terms of voluntary, because he was a professional driver. He thought could be of a service to church," states John Cho, church deacon, of Chae/

"I heard that he's been very devoted, and he's been volunteering as a bus driver whenever there's an opportunity. We are very sorry about it," according to Youngsil Lee, churchgoer.
