Bulls

The bulls surprised everyone this year by doing as well as they did and having the best record in the NBA during the regular season. Their record of 62 -20 is the same record they had the last time they won it all in the 97-98 season. Besides the team doing so well they also had a couple of members of the team receiving high NBA honors. Coach Tom Thibodeau received the Coach of the year award in his first year as a head coach in the league and turned a .500 team in to possibly the best team in the league. He is also the first bulls coach to receive this award since Phil Jackson in 1996. The other award won by a bull was the MVP which was awarded to the superstar point guard Derrick Rose. He is also the youngest ever to receive this award at the age of 22. No one from the bulls has received this award since Michael Jordan in the 95-96 season in which they won the championship. So with the coach of the year, the MVP, and a solid supporting cast the playoffs are looking pretty promising for the bulls. What doesn’t look to promising though is there performance thus far. They beat the Pacers in the series 4-1 but in about 3 of those wins the pacers were up the majority and the bulls made runs at the end. Also they lost the first game in their conference semi-finals series against the Atlanta Hawks 103-95 who were a 5 seed heading into playoffs knocking out the 4 seed Orlando Magic. If they want to get through this series and be a championship contending team they need to first put their best defender on Joe Johnson who scored 34 against them in the first game and also they need to have their shooters to step up their game with 3’s to open the drive up for Rose.
