The White Sox were able to pull off a victory against the Yankees winning 3-2 on April 24, all thanks to one player who hasn’t been seen as much of a factor. This player is Brent Lillibridge who didn’t even start the game but came in as a pinch runner in the eighth inning while the sox were down 2-1 until Paul Konerko hit a home run to drive in Lillibridge and himself to put the sox up 3-2. But that is not even close to the effect Lillibridge had on this tough game against the yanks. In the ninth inning he was put in right field and made two amazing catches to practically win the game as a bench player. His catches were so good in fact that they were combined as the top play for ESPN that night. This guy can be the spark they need, but they are going to need more than a spark to catch up with the red hot Indians who are 6 games ahead and the royals who are about 2 games ahead but are starting to improve their offense more. It seems that Chicago baseball better heat up with the weather or this could be a long summer for Chicago fans, with both teams under .500 the White Sox at 10-19, and the Cubs at 12-15.These teams should be free from enraged fans until after the bulls are done with their playoffs. If I were the Sox or Cubs I would either get my act together quick or hope that the bulls win championship so that fans won’t get so mad. Also it could maybe give them momentum and Chicago could have a bunch of great sports and be feared in all sports maybe even the Fire too.
